2006 Scholarship Winner Roy Randolph Thanks Association Roy Randolph was chosen as the 2006 top scholarship recipient by the Scholarship Foundation Board of Trustees. A year after receiving the award, Randolph contacted the CAWV to thank the association. "The moment I received the CAWV scholarship my opportunities expanded drastically. I can not thank the CAWV enough for the opportunities, assistance and insight they have provided. "Over the summer I interned with Kanawha Stone Company. My internship consisted of a large earthmoving project in Bridgeport, approximately 2 million cubic yards, to prepare for the construction of a $202 million hospital. After completing my internship and graduating from Fairmont State University, the general contractor for the hospital project, Centex, offered me a position with their company. I am now working as a project engineer with Centex on the Bridgeport hospital project. "With the help of the CAWV and Kanawha Stone Company, I have been able to expand my knowledge of the construction industry by leaps and bounds throughout the past year. I am very grateful for the opportunities the CAWV and its members has provided for both my education and career." |
