There is only one full service organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the construction industry in the Mountain State - The Contractors Association of West Virginia. The CAWV represents nearly 500 businesses in building, highway, municipal utility and industrial contracting, as well as businesses providing services, supplies and products to the construction industry. The CAWV is one of the most respected trade organizations in the state and has been a traditional leader of the business community in advancing legislative and public policy issues for more than 75 years. With seven staff members, two being registered lobbyist, the

CAWV is able to accommodate and focus attention to each members' specific needs through the four membership divisions that have been designed to help serve the members better. They include, Highway/Heavy Contractors, Building Contractors, Municipal Utility Contractors, Associate Membership. Within each division, the CAWV has joint committees with state federal contracting agencies that have an impact on rules and regulations funding towards issues affecting the industry.
